Family:
Wife, Kacie; Daughter, Lyla Joy

Ministry Calling:
When I was teaching a men's Bible study at the University of Georgia my senior year, I just realized I wouldn't be happier doing anything else but teaching God's Word.

What is your favorite scripture?
Seriously, this one's always changing, but we'll go with 2 Timothy 4:1-2

"I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: 2 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching."

What is your favorite color and why?
Whatever the color of the shirt my wife picked out for me that day is.

What is your favorite television show?
Lost

What's on your iPod?
Matisyahu, anything NOT country, and sermons from various preachers

Who has had the most profound influence on your life?
Ummm....Jesus!

If you could have any other job, which would it be?
Missionary ;-)

What do you miss about the mission field?
I miss just experiencing different cultures and relating with people with a different worldview than Americans. It opens you up to the fact the the world is extremely diverse and interesting. It also shows you the cross-cultural, global nature of the Christian faith.

If you could speak any language other than English what would it be and why?
Spanish – image the mission opportunities in Franklin County

What is one thing that drives your view of ministry?
Discipleship - the fact that every believer should seek to reproduce their commitment to Christ in the lives of others.

What are your hobbies?
Spending time with family. I enjoy a good movie and popcorn with my wife.

If you could say one thing to the body of Christ today what would it be?
Men need to be spiritual leaders. We have degenerated biblical manhood and outsourced the spiritual leadership to paid professionals or sometimes to our wives. I would challenge men to evaluate what the Scriptures say about their responsibility in the home and prioritize worship as a family.

What do you enjoy most about serving at Tharptown?
The freedom to preach truth.

Are there any interesting or unusual facts about you?
I have a BB in my toe!

What do you have to say to people that may be checking out Tharptown Baptist Church for the first time?
God made you for His own glory so that you would worship Him and devote your total life to Him. Are you doing that?

What is your favorite scripture?
Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Romans 8:26-28
